Several weeks ago, I was so pleased to introduce the world to mmSDK 6.0. Today I’d like to make another introduction: mmSDK 6.1. Our latest upgrade has all of the exciting new features and functionality of the 6.0 version, plus enhancements and fixes that improve performance and expand monetization opportunities with new mediation partners.
6.1 also includes support for iOS 9, including multitasking functionality for iPad that allows a user to view two apps at the same time. (This feature currently applies to the iPad Air 2, iPad Mini 4, and the newly announced iPad Pro.) Other iOS-centric improvements include support for IPv6 and adaptations to help publishers take advantage of App Transport Security (ATS), a new feature that ensures secure client/server communication.
We’re also building support for bitcode, a component of App Thinning in the near future. As we put in the necessary work to support these two features, we ask publishers for their patience.
Of course, I’d be remiss to focus entirely on iOS. Android developers will appreciate that 6.1 was tested against the latest preview version of Android M, and both versions have new network adapters including Facebook, AdMob, and AdColony. We will continue to round out our downstream adapter suite, so publishers can expect additional adapters in the future.
We’ve also done some basic housekeeping including some non-critical bug fixes to improve performance.
We’re excited about the large and small ways our latest upgrade improves upon our offerings, and we encourage you to download it here and visit our Documentation Site to learn more about iOS 9 support. Any questions? Let us know. We’re here to make mobile simple for our partners.
